Here's the story on this and it bugs the heck out of me. I drive all the way
to VA to a pain specialist from MD because I couldn't find a doctor to take
care of me here. Now when I take it to the local pharmacy it costs me like
$90.00 to have it filled. My lovely insurance carrier has picked this
company that we have to mail our scripts to and get them filled and they mail
them back UPS and I have to sign for it. The problem arises when they take
14 to 17 days to get the medication to me (why it takes so darn long I'll
never know) as I mailed the scripts to them over 16 days ago. When I mail
them to this company it only costs me $8.00 and not the $90.00 that it does
at the pharmacy so you see why I mail them although I cringe everytime I send
them in the mail knowing that I may run out before they get here. Today is
one of those days, so I'm in bed trying to keep the pain level down. I have
something else for the pain, but it doesn't take it any like the oxy does, so
I figure if I don't move perhaps I can live through the day without screaming
in pain. I called and they said they fed ex'd them out today for me at only
a cost of $18.00. This is also a new prescription from my pain doctor (MS
contin) and I don't know how I'm even going to react to the drug - after
being on the oxy for over a year but they said it's best to change so you
don't become immune to it and then go back to the oxy. I will let everyone
know how I do on the ms contin which is a derivative of morphine and if I'm
ok or in la-la land somewhere. Now to make it through the day!!! Do you
think that 2 teenage children and one man can handle dinner? NO!!!! Do you
think that anyone has picked up one dish, one towel, doggy doo or pee, NO!!!
Has anyone come in and offered me something to eat? No!!!!! What would
families do without Moms???? So I need the medication to be able to get out
of this bed and be a Mom and what else would you call it (no it's not called
slavery, or maid, or anything of that sort, now is it)?
Jean, it's your fault cause you write like it's from friend to friend and who
would think that it was posted to the board, and I hit click and said now
that was personally to me right, OOPS, wrong. You're right though, I did
laugh my butt off the other night when you made the OOPs, so I got mine!!!!!
Thanks for being understanding all that are reading!!! Now, who's next? Bet
everyone is going to be extra careful before hitting the send button.
Love to all of you,
Helen C.
