Thanks for the info. I see that the chance of adhesions is quite high, but since not all adhesions cause problems, I was wondering if there is any clinical data on the percentage chance that such adhesions will cause severe pain or bowel obstruction.

In making my decision, if that chance is small then I'll probably go through with the surgery. I have percentages on the other risks (infection, etc.) but haven't been able to find a number for the pain/bowel risk.
