I kmow many people who are afraid of Western science, but feel free to
experiment with natural substances and Chinese medicines. Sometimes you
are taking your life in your hands because the ingredients in Chinese
medicines vary widely. There are no controls for what goes in that
bottle. In addition, natural substances can kill you, poison hemlock for
instance. There is a plant growing wild locally that is a natural
abortive, and has been used as such by the Natives, originally, and more
recently by local women. It works quite well with no apparent side
efffects. I say apparent, because nobody knows how it works, other than
it makes your uterus contract and brings on your period. There are so
many items sold as "natural" and it scares me when people take them
