Hi Karen:

I've been on the adhesions board for about a year and a half - since just after my diagnostic lap. My story is on the quilt - appendectomy gone bad when I was 3-1/2 years old, severe lower back pain spreading around the hip to the pelvic area beginning about 4 years ago, fighting with the doctors, hospitals, and Canadian health care system ever since for treatment and pain management. Still fighting - have finally gotten something stronger than Ibuprofen, but I can't take enough of it to control the pain - my GP finally put me on codeine two months ago, but I can't take more than 90 mg a day or I end up with severe chest pains on top of the pelvic pain, and the codeine isn't controlling the pain.

I've been waiting for over two months for a reply back from the pain clinic regarding the assessment form I submitted, and for almost two months for an appointment with the surgeon in Fredericton. Nothing moves very fast here on the East Coast of Canada.

As I said in my post to Tinky - today has been a bad to rotten day. Both legs are now numb, and tomorrow will most likely be worse because I forced myself to keep going today - dishes, housework, laundry, gardening, harvesting, shopping, etc. I probably won't sleep much tonight and won't be worth a tinker's damn tomorrow, but at least my house is clean, my laundry is done, the garden is weeded, I have greens in the freezer for this winter, and we have food in the house. If I can't walk tomorrow, I've got a sweater to finish knitting for my grandson, so I'll have a good excuse to lie back with my feet up all day.

Hope everyone is having a better weekend than I am.
