This same thing happened to a friend of mine about twelve years after
her hysterectomy. The cause was, much to her and her doctor's surprise,
a return of endometriosis--this time vaginal lesions. They were able to
take care of the immediate (spotting) problem with a few outpatient
freezing procedures, but it was, of course, alarming. Good luck.

I know that from that experience they say that bright red blood means that it's coming from somewhere close. Did you have any "activity" that may have caused the spotting?
