NEW, and confused (a little long)

Hi. I am new, and am really confused about the difference between adhesions and endo. I had a lap. in 1995--the surgical report stated that endometriosis treated was in the cul-de-sac, and that there was an adhesion in my abdomen that was lysed. I also distinctly remember the MD showing me post-op pics, and telling me that he cut an adhesion that was pulling my rectum and my vagina together (sorry so graphic). Not surprising to me, considering I had terrible pain there...

Anyway, I have been on BCP for 6 yrs., with no problems. But now, I am having terrible pain in the exact same spot, and I am sure it is an adhesion again.

My question is this: will an endo specialist deal with adhesions during a lap? The MD who did my first lap. obviously treated both endo. and adhesions ( he was not an endo specialist). I need to know, as I have a 2nd lap. scheduled in 2-3 weeks. Also, the specialist indicated to me that he didn't know how much a lap would help, which surprised me considering that it helped tremendously before. So, I am very confused.

Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks.
