Dear Linda, Welcome to the adhesion site, please look back in the archives. All doctors are not the same. You need a specialist. And there are very few around. I don't mean to scare you but a doctor who has not done many, many adhesion procedures can do more harm then good. For example, if your adhesions have grown to fill most of your abdomen and the doctor can not see your organs because of the adhesions, they might inadvertently cut your colon or bladder (that happened to me, but it turned out okay). I have great respect for my local doctor and I know he is here for me, but he will not operate again. The risk is just too high. Please, please, do not go to just any doctor who calls themselves a specialist. Your whole quality of life for the rest of your life is at stake. I'm sorry to be so heavy and scary but after years of pain and suffering and doctors, I pray that you find a good doctor. Take care and please write back to the board. With kindest regards, Sally Grigg
