Dear Karen,
I am also in intense pain on my left side. It started in my lower pelvic
area and I was diagnosed with levator ani syndrome, basically spasms of the
pelvic floor muscles. Unfortunately it is not that simple and by bowels are
involved, so it looks like more adhesions...
but in physical therapy, I learned some great stretches that really helped,
if nothing else it just got my abs stronger. They also have me doing
execises on one of those giant swiss balls that you sit on. You barely move,
but the balancing really stretches that spot out.
As I said, this has helped the muscles, but that's about it. If you have a
fax # , I'd be glad to send you a sheet with the stretches. It will help
especially if you are walking as well.
I am scheduled for surgery at the end of may with Dr Redan for lysis of
adhesions, but plan on working out as best I can to get as strong as possible
for the surgery.
