Dear Helen When I was in hospital last year there was a lady there that had her colon stretched because of narrowing (because of adhesions) and they actually caused a tear in her bowel. She ende up in theatre and had a temporary colonoscopy for six months and then came back in and was in the next room to me.Thaey ended up removing her large bowel and sewing her ileum to her rectum like they did to me.This all happened because she had the bowel stretched.
