>Everyone who is dealing with adhesions have stories about medications, from someone who has been dealing with the pain/adhesions for a long time and a nurse let me first say that what ever works for you should be up to you and your doctor but be ASSERTIVE, a good doctor will listen to you. As Robin stated and I found to be true, if my bowels are working I do feel better but the pain medications will affect motility and if you bowels slow down from the pain meds you have to compensate with something else for the bowels. I know it is a vicious cycle but you have to work it out and remember QUALITY of life. Some of you may of tried it already but I am currently on NEURONTIN, it is not the drug of choice for everyone but if you haven't tried it ask your doctor. It is not a pain reliever but studies have shown it interrupts the signal of pain to your brain, or to some peoples brains. It has helped me but nothing is 100%, I like to feel in control and some meds just don't allow me to do that. Best of luck and remember be ASSERTIVE, it is your body and believe me you have rights. I am not down on all doctors but many DON'T LISTEN to women, I am sorry but we all know it is true, find a doctor that listens. I did (and it is a man).
