Helen---It would be informative for you to know the kind of diagnostic testing that Dr. Korell would want you to have before he would take you as a patient. I am having surgery in December with Drs. Reich and Redan and have just finished up the diagnostic test procedures locally that they ordered. I live in Kansas; they are in Pennsylvania. I had an IVP, a barium enema (it wasn't bad at all for me), and blood work. From watching the boards over time, I have drawn the conclusion that it is very common to have a gastro-intestinal doc involved in the diagnostic testing. You ask a very good question about the diagnostic lap. My best advice would be to pick up the phone and call Dr. Korell's office with these questions. I debated back and forth in my head for several months what I was going to do. I now look back and chuckle when I think of how simple it finally was when I called their office to get information about possibly becoming a patient. The staff was wonderful, gave answers (and reasons for those answers) to all my questions, and made all the preparatory steps very easy for me. Give yourself the advantage of getting these important answers from the source! We may guess...but they would be your best source of information. Best of luck. A friend, Mary
