Dear Tracie:

I was also prescribed clonidine at my pain clinic. After my adhesiolysis in June I still experienced severe right rib pain which my doctor diagnosed as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. The clonidine is used for high blood pressure but is also used in combination with opiates for the treatment of severe pain. I already have low blood pressure so the doctor was only afraid that it would make we woozy upon awakening in the morning. I have not had any side effects that I've noticed from taking clonidine and my right rib pain has subsided some since I've been taking it the last two weeks. Hope I've helped.
