Hi Jim

I went back to my doctor this week who basically said what you have just advised - I suggested the wait and see approach but she wasn't happy with that as the pain is becoming almost constant and she feels I have probably had several temporary/partial obstructions already and she doesn't want to leave things until they become a clinical emergency. She is referring me back for a laporocsopy with a view to removing the adhesions causing the obstructions, if this is possible. I have been assured that laproscopic procedures have a very low risk of causing new adhesions. She wasn't sure at my appointment whether to refer me back to the gynae who diagnosed the adhesions in the first place and who had scheduled my for the laparotomy or whether to refer me to a general surgeon. I guess I'll find out when the letter drops through the door!!

Thanks to everyone for your advice and support on this!
