Hi Natalie-- It is my understanding that the only way adhesions can be dxd is my going in and looking; unfortunately if they do that, they run the risk of more adhesion formation. I have not been formally dxd with them by any dr., but over the years, several have alluded that are probably at least partially responsible for a lot my problems, which are pain around my belly button, obstipation, gas, distension, and other bowel diffiiculties, which all began immediately after my 10/93 hysterectomy/bladder repair fiasco and have continued to this day despite all drs. recommendations and rectocele repair surgery in 1997. Have had abdominal ct scan, colonoscopies, endoscopy, defocography, and several other tests, none of which were much help in diagnosing my problem. It was approx. 2 yrs. ago that I started hearing about adhesions, and pretty much figured out for myself that I have them. I also was dxd with endometriosis (supposedly not severe, according to laser laps in 1985 and 1990), and have reflux that is causing a precancerous condition in my vocal cords, for which surgery has been recommended since meds not working. Anyway, I believe I'm finally on the right track and it sure feels good, though I'm still looking for a dr. in my area to follow-up with, none of the ones I've been to have much knowledge about adhesions. >
