Re: Fibrin Glue...a special kind of glue being used in surgical

If you think about it, it does make a little sense. This is how I am looking at
it, only a lay persons opinion. If the doc's were to use glue to stop the
bleeding from any site, then they wouldn't have to use so much gauze to dry up
the blood. Doesn't that sound logical? There wouldn't be a high degree of clot
removal. If blood is a factor in adhesion formation, then eliminating the
oozing, by using glue, would cut some of the risk, promote quicker healing, and
the way I see it, keep the doc's hands, instruments, and solutions at bay, thus
eliminating unnecessary trauma to the tissues.. Yes, glue would be another
foreign matter in the body cavity, but don't you think that gauze leaves lint,
threads, and so on, when used? OR towels even shed. I worked at a surgical
packaging plant for 2 1/2 years, as a materials handler, tray and trace cart
builder and then a level 3 inspector (very closely with Quality Control, who are
RN's or people that have obtained Bachelors Degree's in the field). I packaged
anything that was everything, from simple wound suture to open heart trays and
trace carts. I seen some "nasty things come into this place, as well as go out
(that I had no control over, QC had the last word). Not all gauze, going into a
medical establishment is prepackaged, it has to be touched and counted, by
several people, the same goes for OR towels, point is, there is an amount of
debris, lint and other matter that goes right into that operating room, that
sterilization can't stop. Anyway, I got off the subject...We all research new
and better ways to prevent adhesion re-growth, maybe I'm not looking at the big
picture here, but it sounds good to me. If this can be used in heart, breast,
colon, etc., surgery, why couldn't it be used as an additional prevention method
for adhesions? I have a lot more reading to do, but what I have read so far,
sounds pretty good and it doesn't sound any worse than some of the other stuff I
have read about in this forum or during my own research. You know what, I would
walk to the ends of the earth, if I knew I could regain just a portion of good
health, that would allow me to run, jump, and play with my nine year old. But, I
know right now that isn't possible, not until this business is publicized. I am
not just angry, that the subject is ignored, I am outraged, because this disease
wouldn't afford me, the chance to hold my daughter passed the age of 1 and it
doesn't afford me long walks or intimate moments with my new husband. "It", has
taken so much away from me, from us all, but you really want to know what makes
me so mad, our government sets behind their power, pushing their pencils and
passing paper all day, that they have no grasped value on the real world. They
allow billions of dollars each year to spent on "stupid" research, such as, "The
effects of flatulent livestock on the ozone layer". Hello! Who and what does
that benefit? Who does it cost? US! Why? Because they obviously don't care, as
long as they're getting paid, then nothing else matters. They harp about medical
care, cutting cost here, and pinching costs there, raising the prices of this
procedure and that, but what is being done to better it? I see nothing. Why
can't Mr. Clinton, drive a Honda, and get a $10.00 hair cut, like the rest of
us. Instead of remodeling the White House with every new president, why not live
in the old? Let them cut their own living expenses, instead of sponging off tax
payers. I am so sorry, If I spoken out of line, but we read about this garbage
and see it on T.V. everyday, and we can't get 1/10 of a percent of the
recognition for a disease, that I believe, is known throughout the medical
world, but shoved out of site and out of mind. Health, seems to be a luxury, if
you can afford it, that's great, if you can't, then that is just too bad...I
guess I have rambled on enough, thanks for listening. Before I go, I have to
leave this with you...
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own
understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your
paths...
