I know it's been a few weeks since I posted anything. I spent a week
driving back and forth to Mayo. They told me that as long as I am not
in an acute phase, they were not going to go in again. Pretty much what
everyone else said. The IPPS doc in Wayzata said my case was very
complicated and the only thing he was willing to suggest was that I stop
taking my estrogen supplement for 6 months to see if that would help. I
saw a pain specialist last week. I think of all of the "specialists"
I've seen in the last year, he was the most helpful. He started me on
Ultram. It seems to at least take the sharp edge off of the pain. I am
also trying biofeedback starting next month. If that doesn't work, he
said it's back to Darvocet (I already know that works for me). It
sounds as though there is a consensus that I will have problems for the
rest of my life, including recurrent partial/total small bowel
obstructions. I just hope this combination works.
